假: Pronunciation & Meaning | 假: произношение и значение.

Depending on the pronunciation, the meaning of the character 假 changes. When said in the third tone, it means "false" or "fake". 假 with the forth tone is used for "holidays" or "a leave".

Значение иероглифа 假 меняется в зависимости от произношения. Когда слово произносится с третьим тоном, оно означает "фальшивый", "поддельный". Произнесенное с четвертым тоном, оно означает "отпуск", "каникулы".

Chinese Pronunciation - Lesson 3 | Китайское произношение - Урок 3

Contrasting tones | Контрасты тонов

Correct pronunciation of Chinese tones is particularly difficult when the 1st tone syllable is followed by second, third or forth tone.
Правильное произношение китайских тонов становится особенно сложным, когда за слогом с первым тоном следует второй, третий или четвертый тон.

First let's review the Chinese tones! Сначала давайте вспомним китайские тоны!

ā - á - ǎ - à
ī - í - ǐ - ì
āi - ái - ǎi - ài
ēi - éi - ěi - èi

Now it is time to see what is happening when 1st tone is followed by others.
Теперь пришло время посмотреть, что происходит, когда за первым тоном следуют другие.

1st <-> 2nd tones

lā - lá             lá -
lī - lí             lí - lī

Chinese Pronunciation - Lesson 2 | Китайское произновшение - Урок 2

Finals: -i, -ei, -ai

-i: similar to "ee" in English "bee" but the tongue remains steady in the high-front position throughout. The tongue muscles are tense, and the lips are flat.

-ei: the second vowel is as prominent as the first one.

-ai: as in English word "aisle". "a" is as prominent as "i".

__________________________________________

Звуки на конце:  -i, -ei, -ai

-i: похож на звук [и] в русском слове "мир", но нужно учитывать, что язык при произнесении китайского звука остается в одном и том же положении (на всем протяжении вверху спереди). Мышцы языка напряжены, губы не округляются.

-ei: второй звук не менее отчетливый, чем первый.

-ai: Звук [a] не менее отчетливый, чем [i].

mī - mēi - mēi -
lí - léi - léi -
nǐ - něi - něi - nǐ

Chinese Tones

1st tone - level at the same pitch (don't forget to pitch it high enough!)
1-ый тон: произносится на одной ноте (не забывайте, что она должна быть достаточно высокой!)

2nd tone - rises, starting from a mid pitch (intonation is similar to that in English questions)
2-ой тон: поднимается вверх, начиная со средней высоты (интонация аналогична тем, что  бывает в коротких русских вопросительных предложениях)

3rd tone - dips, starting from a mid pitch, dropping low, then rising to mid
3-ий тон: голос "проваливается" вниз от середины и затем снова поднимается

4th tone - falls (starts from the highest pitch and drops right down to the lowest point - as if in short commands)
4-ый тон: резко падает (начинается с самой высокой точки и тут же снижается до самого низкого значения).
